You are welcome to the Tallinn or Tartu clinic!
I have compiled answers to the most frequently asked questions so that you feel confident and informed before coming to me.
Initial Consultation — choose this if you have private insurance that covers physiotherapy costs.
It is also suitable if you experience diastasis, pelvic floor disorders, pelvic pain, painful intercourse, prolapse, or if you are coming before or after abdominoplasty. Suitable for women at different life stages.
Postpartum Screening — suitable if you do not have private insurance, have given birth within the last year, and want an assessment of your body’s recovery after childbirth.
During the screening, you will receive a personalized plan that helps you decide whether and which exercises or recovery techniques are recommended. If desired, we can also discuss how to safely return to your usual workouts.
If you do not have pelvic floor problems and are coming primarily for abdominal muscles, a vaginal assessment is not directly necessary.
Since gynecologists and midwives rarely assess pelvic floor muscles, this can be very valuable information for you.
You always make the final decision yourself.
After the discussion, I will assess the condition of your muscles, using ultrasound, biofeedback-EMG, or manual therapy if necessary.
Then I will teach you the first exercises.
If desired, we can film them with your phone or I can send the instructions via email.
You will leave the appointment in good spirits and with a clear plan.
Please note that I always give homework assignments — rehabilitation is a collaboration: I guide, but consistent practice depends on you.
I promise to give you as much as needed and as little as possible so that the exercises fit into your daily life and are truly manageable.
It is important to begin recovery when you feel ready or have the need for it.
I will help you assess your current situation and create a plan that best supports you based on your current condition.
Some examples of what I can help with:
Also welcome are all women who wish to learn how to train their pelvic floor muscles and thereby prevent the onset of problems.
If you have complaints (e.g., diastasis, pelvic floor disorders, prolapse, painful intercourse, pelvic pain, etc.), I will likely invite you for a follow-up appointment in about 4–6 weeks.
NB! It is very important to regularly change the exercise plan during the recovery period.
Muscles do not develop in a comfort zone, and if you do the exact same exercises for a long time, you cannot expect the best results.
Additionally, repeating the same plan becomes tedious, which is why it is advisable to update the plan every 1–2 months.
You can conveniently book an appointment online (payment is made upon booking) or on-site (payment is made at the time of the appointment).
